Biodiversity and energy efficiency

Gijón is the largest city in the Asturias region and the third most populous city in northern Spain, after Bilbao and A Coruña. The 4.7 hectare site, acquired in July 2022, is located in Ceares, a fast-growing area of Gijón, on the site of the former Cerámica Gijonesa brick and ceramics factory. The site borders “Los Pericones Park“, the largest park in Gijón.

The land is locally contaminated with TPH, PAHs, VOCs, heavy metals, BTEX and PCBs. The concrete slab covering the site contains asbestos residues.

The redevelopment envisages a building area of around 36,800 sqm, with a mix of residential and tertiary activities. The urban development project includes a large amount of green space to create continuity with the "Los Pericones park“. The real estate project will incorporate energy efficiency and low-carbon construction objectives.
