VILLEURBANNE, the challenge of urban regeneration.
Acquired by Ginkgo in April 2023 in partnership with BNP Paribas Immobilier, the 5 hectares of this former Renault group chassis assembly plant have now been completely decontaminated. The development phase is already underway in cooperation with the City of Villeurbanne and the Lyon Metropolis.
With the tracks for the future T6 tram station and line crossing the future neighbourhood, the laying of the foundation stone for the "Maison de Blandine" senior citizens' residence in April 2025 marked the start of this major urban regeneration project.
The buildings of the future "La Filature" neighbourhood, designed to accommodate a wide mix of social and generational groups, will be built around a 2-hectare park open to the city. Family housing will be adjacent to a senior residence, a student residence, a crèche and premises for economic activity.
It is important to note that this urban project is an example of a successful public-private partnership. With environmental liabilities managed and demolition and decontamination work completed in less than two years, the speed of its transformation has been widely praised.
