The old Dunlop factory
The former Dunlop production site, located in the centre of Tournai, was acquired in October 2012.
The soil contamination consisted mainly of a high concentration of chlorinated solvents and hydrocarbons. Demolition work began in September 2015 and land remediation work was completed in September 2016 with the assistance of Haskoning DHV.
The redevelopment programme monitored by the architectural firm Syntaxe includes the construction of 22'100 sqm of office, residential and commercial spaces.
